If all financial support of illegal aliens is withdrawn, many of them will self-deport when they get hungry and cold. America needs that kind of tough love, even if it is painful.

This is the solution and not deportation and closed borders/tribalism. Remove income tax, abolish welfare benefits and open the borders both ways.

Nobody is a fan of the income tax. I think that even more folks dislike the way our tax dollars are spent. Spending it on welfare for the able-bodied is bad. Spending it on illegal aliens is far worse. I married a foreigner. Did all the paperwork to bring her here. After my wife got her citizenship, we petitioned her mom & dad, two brothers and two sisters. It took 10 years to get them here legally, by the books, all the i's dotted and t's crossed and about $8,000 in 1970's dollars...that was real money back then on Navy E-7 pay. I had to swear out affidavits of support for each of them saying I would be financially responsible for each of them and that if any tried to get on the government dole that I'd be financial responsible and they'd be deported. That's how the legal immigration system works. They stood in line, did the paperwork, got vetted and came here to prosper. The two boys joined the Navy. One stayed for 4 years and got out an E-4. The other stayed for 31 years and retired a CWO4. He spent his entire career on sea duty. The two girls and my wife's parents got jobs. My wife worked as many as 2 full-time and two part-time jobs at once and seldom less than 2 jobs since she got here in the 70's. All of them paid taxes, none of them ever took a dime of welfare. That's how the immigration system is supposed to work. "Closed borders" is like a closed door on your house. For entry, you require a polite knock, not a midnight entry through a backyard window. With regard to "tribalism", I can say with some certainty that open borders imports tribalism. I saw it the last time I was in Europe in 1991. Marseilles, France and their no-go zones populated by 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation Algerians and North Africans in their banlieues, those urban hellholes where even the police, ambulances and fireman fear to go. In Marseilles, I saw crowds of 20-30 young men of Arab descent in public places dressed in shiny pants, disco shirts opened to mid-throxax, pointy shoes, slicked back greasy hair shouting cat-calls to women of all ages passing by and with looks of smug defiance for any Frenchman to say something about it. None did. It has worsened across Europe since 1991 and we are seeing it here now. There is no need to assimilate or get a job when you couple open borders with massive welfare subsidies for people who broke the law to get here to go on the grift. A reasonable person (I am not pointing the finger at you, Vxi7) might ask him or herself "How many should we let in and what is the impact on us and is it really making an impact in relieving misery in the Third World?" Me? I don't want unvetted freeloaders, line jumpers and people who break the law to get here to be here. Neither do my immigrant kin.

The problem is not the immigrants but the system which allows them to become such a parasites on other people.

No go zones and uncontrolled immigrants are the result of the system (again I repeat myself). When the system regulates too much and results in disarmed general population. But remember being armed is futile if laws don't allow you to protect your belonging or even your life (equal force law..)

So in summary the government is your primary enemy not immigrants.
