I have a personal theory that I have no academics to back up but it’s very motivating for me. That America is becoming a slum. That’s the goal. To make a giant, barely functioning slum. 15% of us will be able to escape the slum if we can afford it. My entire goal is to be in that 15% because fighting this seems pointless. Progressives are proponents of the slum. They are bringing it about faster than any Republican imo. I no longer believe in society or brotherhood outside of Christianity. I help Christians but otherwise I save for myself and my niece who I want to ensure never lives in the slum. I’ll die happy if my family and I can keep her out of it forever because it’s her generation that I think will see the real fireworks, not mine.
It is hard not to feel a sense of determinism in the policies and decisions advocated by many Progressives. They cannot be this obtuse to the inevitable outcomes these choices will produce. All we can do is prepare. Godspeed to you and yours.
To support infinite growth capitalism, everything else must be crushed.
Sometimes I feel like Congress is a legacy feature and we might as well ghost them as the middleman, and usher in the era of corporations actually running everything.
It’s up to us to continue to belittle the Paul Krugmans, Tom Friedmans and others who just lie. Their figures they recite have been revised each month for the past 2-3 years.
